Moyashi Taiyou was kicked out of the sky by his father, The Sun, for being useless and taking up space. "There's no room for slackers up here! Go down there and make yourself useful or get a job!" "YO, I'VE GOT A JOB, OLD MAN," Moyashi retorted. "And it's doing THIS," and he combed his mighty pompadour and swung it towards the lady stars and they twinkled back at him. This just made his dad angrier, though, so he got shot down into the sea in a blazing fireball. He lay there sizzling the ocean for 3 days, giving The Sun the double birds whenever he passed by. On the fourth day, he was approached by the mermaid captain Tamamo Utsu who was investigating the column of steam. She shot him a couple of times to see what would happen, and when he didn't die (he got very hurt and angry, though) she decided to stop shooting him and listen to his tale. After getting the story, she chided him for being an ass, but then extended a job offer to him to be a commissioned Beat Up Guy: he could join her on her patrols and Beat Up anybody who was causing trouble! He was like "Why would I do that?" and she was like "Beat Up Guys are pretty popular with the sea ladies," and her crew nodded emphatically, so YO HO, YOU'D BETTER WATCH OUT FOR THE SUN OF THE SEA
