"OLD TOWN"

Trained at the Design Center in Maracay, Venezuela, Carlos Gonzalez now lives in LaBelle, Florida. In 2016 Pompano Beach Arts selected Gonzalez' design for the 98-foot wall facing the alleyway behind BaCA (the Bailey Contemporary Arts building). From archive photographs, historic sites, and existing landmarks Gonzalez created a colorful vision of the South Florida community: past, present, and future.

What a fun way to end my work week at the celebration for Shipwreck Park for the Okinawa that will be sunk Saturday morning to become Pompano Beach's newest artificial reef. The sculptures created by artist Dennis MacDonald are a wonderful addition and will create an underwater Dive Bar. Last pic here is the press release.
