throwing my hat into the ring: speculating on the starter evolutions for gen x! really cute trio but i am not getting a switch 2 unless it is given to me or perhaps i am paid to take it.

casslogume is based roughly off a cassowary! i wasn't sure how to keep the idea of beans so uuuuuuuh bean fluff necklace. Sure man.

pompyre is based off Really Big Pomeranian + the idea of a bonfire; i wanted it to have the feel of the darker wooden "base" fueling the "fire" on top. also huge fluffy animal

komave is roughly based off a komodo dragon while keeping the fat tail from gecqua. i wanted to make it big and colorful and not standing up LMAO.

i did this with the idea that they're all single-type... honestly the only one i can think of getting a dual is water/psychic (based off the dex). grass/flying seems obvious but uncreative... it would be really really funny if we got fire/flying out of this. it fuckin' wimdy.

Yknow what throwing my 2 cents of Pokemon wiwa starter evo line wants/desires

Option 1 is all pure types. This is easily achievable and probably going to be my closest ‘guess’ if anything. If they go this way I want no anthros (infinitely harder)

Option 2 is the Grass-Fire-Water type circle looped back in on itself, so that each starter gets either the type it’s weak to or strong to (which one it gets purely depends on which movepool coverage we think is cooler for hypothetical final evos). If the game has themes of symbiosis this would be cool as hell

Option 3 is more complicated and requires personal breakdown per Pokemon

I want Browt to be Grass/Ice, preferably by second stage. This would grant players more Ice types

‘Why’ snow peas ‘this pokemon will Die Instantly’ Well-Baked Body or Reverse Dry Skin Hidden Ability, Heatproof or Thick Fat if we’re feeling less nice

I want Pombon to be Fire/Fairy. This creature has whimsy and I Need It Maximized. Not much to say but I think plenty of other people are saying things for me

I understand that Gecqua has Potential to evolve into a Water/Poison type. However. Geckos aren’t naturally poisonous or venomous (or at least. I don’t think they’re venomous. The few instances where a site listed that a few geckos were venomous didn’t really have it anywhere else) and usually the concern was disease. Instead I have decided that Gecqua should evolve into a Water/Normal type with an Aerialate/Pixelate/Dragonize Hidden Ability but for Poison types

‘that is Unhinged’ there has been no instance of any pokemon gaining the Normal type upon evolution, the majority of the tiny minority that lose one of their two dual types upon evolution is Normal type, and that’s also not including the Gen 6 De-Normalization. Normal types are allowed to have fun too

(I flipped through the Megas as well but honestly? More likely to lose Flying type. And that’s still less likely than gaining a new type cause a good chunk is pure typed)

‘Still not a proper type circle’ Kanto has all the excuses but Hoenn and Sinnoh’s type circles are borked (maybe also Unova if you don’t consider Emboar as cashing in on the Trend). Even if you want to argue that it wasn’t adopted until later just change Gecqua back into Water/Poison and Browt’s extreme type fragility closes the circle in place of a natural type advantage- Decidueye doesn’t have any type advantage or disadvantage on Primarina in its secondary so imperfect circles are fine.

Regardless I think my idea’s more fun, especially since Hidden Abilities have become more accessible

I hope ponbom just gets more and more fluffy and fat until it’s the size of gigantimax cinderace’s ball
