#Inktober day whatever I lost count lol (12 I guess) Flash and Coco make a surprise visit to the girls! They'll be staying in equestria for a bit as a little vacay to get away from all the work stress and such. Flash has visited before back in highschool and such so he's a little more used to being a pony, this is coco's first time here so she has to get used to all this haha
For some reason I decided to look up the online toy store I once bought these cheapo Pony World dolls + outfits from, one of the first review-type posts I did on my old doll blog. Kind of pointless, since I barely found a trace of this budget brand anywhere else (and I did a lot of googling at the time). To my surprise, they’ve expanded their selection since then. There’s male and female dolls, horses, dogs, cars...
Back then the only dolls in stock were the female cowboy outfit doll, so I bought two (they were super cheap and I was curious). I’m not sure why I never posted any comparison pics, but the bodies are made of hard shiny plastic and have decent basic articulation, typical equestrian doll style. The main problem is that they’re bright orange and match absolutely nothing:
At the time I was pretty disappointed, since the color didn’t show up in the product pics and I really liked the facemold. Now that I look at them again I realize they remind me a lot of a slightly squished Creata Flower Princess doll... maybe they’re Creata clones? I’m not 100% convinced, but that would certainly be more likely than a budget doll getting its very own facemold made from scratch. Also, that would mean I could easily get my hands on a less orange version of that face.
The clothes were of decent quality for a clone, a few wonky seams and weird fits, but they’re made of real fabric. I like that they made a whole line of outfits suitable for different kinds of horse-related activities - a kid who’s really interested in horses and riding would probably appreciate that kind of detail.
Also, they’re really cheap. (19 SEK is about $2.30.) I’m vaguely considering buying one of the horse sets just to see what the saddle is like.

ETA: actually googling “pony world dolls” now turns up a whole lot of pics. Maybe outfits that actually look like something you might wear to clean out the stable were a winner after all.
