Dolls I Didn't Buy: Forever Clever "Junior Princess" line
Dollar Tree seems to be getting toys that used to go to Big Lots (RIP), 99 Cents Only (RIP), Tuesday Morning (RIP), and other discounters.
The $5-ish section of my local Dollar Tree had these Junior Princesses by Forever Clever. The brand is famous for its 2021 licensed G.I. Joe Creative Bricks (like Lego, except not). In 2023, they got a Transformers license to make various trinkets.
I see no indications of Disney licensing on these dolls, and it's pretty common for off-brand fairytale princess dolls to be recognizable to people who've seen the Disney characters, without quite being in the realm where Disney can object. If I'm wrong, I will be delighted to see what research I missed! This one has really frustrated me, as I can't find a main Forever Clever web site.
From the same brand, Dollar Tree also had little princess playsets with coaches for $3. (Amazon and other sources show that there exists a larger playset with a building, too, probably costing more.)
These aren't doll concepts that I'd collect, but it's interesting to see Dollar Tree picking up the slack for other discounters that have shuffled off this mortal coil.
