RiverClan Background Character HCs
ThunderClan | ShadowClan | WindClan | SkyClan | The Kin
- Beechfur and Gorsetail met when they were apprentices on the journey to the lake. They had caught each other’s eyes during Gatherings even before the journey, but never spoke until then. Beechfur is a big hopeless romantic and would sneak onto WindClan territory to meet Gorsetail and waxed poetic to her. She found it adorable. When Gorsetail found out she was pregnant, Beechfur considered moving to WindClan, but decided against it when he realized Mudstar would probably tear his pelt off. Instead, Gorsetail promised him she’d raise the kits without a father and that he’d always be in her heart. They still meet at Gatherings and Beechfur was close to Sedgewhisker, Thistleheart, and Swallowtail. He joined StarClan during the Great Battle, protecting Gorsetail from a Dark Forest cat, and is still close to his kits in StarClan, though they still don’t know he’s their father.
- Beetlewhisker was pretty much left in the dust after his sister, Petalfur, excelled as an apprentice. He felt pretty abandoned, though Petalfur never meant to make him feel that way. He was approached by Maggottail in the Dark Forest, who promised him they’d teach him everything he needed to know to be better than his sister. After he died to Brokenstar’s fangs, Beetlewhisker stayed as far away from the border between the Dark Forest and StarClan as possible, wishing he didn’t let jealousy of his sister lead him to his own demise.
- Petalfur took refuge in her parents and her other brother, Grasspelt after Beetlewhisker passed away. When she found out Beetlewhisker and Icewing had been training in the Dark Forest, she spent less time with her mother, having no idea how to feel about her dead brother, and instead took refuge in her old friend, Mallownose. They were joined at the hip after a while, never leaving each others’ sides. Petalfur considered naming one of her kits after Beetlewhisker, but decided against it. She prays to StarClan every night that her brother will visit her so she can see him again, but it never happens.
- Curlfeather and Poollight, Duskfur’s daughters, are the kits of the barn cat, Floss. Duskfur raised them without a father, and made sure no cat gossiped about the kits. The kits know about their barn cat mother, but see no problem with them having loner blood, they even visit her on a fairly regular basis in secret. They were all pretty shocked when Floss passed away to greencough. They buried her behind the barn with Smoky’s help.
- Meadowpelt and Perchwing are identical: every spot, every freckle is in the same spot. They’re always mistaken for one another. They enjoy leading people to believe that they’re their sister, confusing cats by walking past them multiple times. It’s funny to joke around with the apprentices during Gatherings. Somehow, Mistystar can always tell them apart, but they do try their hardest to trick her. How does Mistystar know the difference? The world may never know, but it may have something to do with Mistystar being Meadowpelt’s mentor.
- Sneezecloud was, in fact, named after his allergies. As a kit, he didn’t like his name, but as he grew up he learned to like it. Graymist loved to tell stories of when he was just a tiny kit in the nursery, sneezing until she finally had to take him outside the camp to get him to stop. It took Mothwing a few moons to figure out that it was an allergy to moss. He has his own den in camp so he doesn’t have a sneezing fit in the middle of the night due to the moss nests in the warriors’ den . He likes making jokes about his name, and enjoys his brother’s, Mallownose, teasing.
- Speaking of Sneezecloud, he’s a big sweetheart. He loves kits and when Mallownose and Petalfur’s kits were born he nearly cried. Brackenpelt, Owlnose, and Jayclaw are still very close to their uncle. They swim and hunt together a lot.
- Jayclaw considered leaving RiverClan to join WindClan so he could be closer to Oatclaw. He decided against it when Rippletail said he wouldn’t join them. After Darktail’s rogues began living in ShadowClan’s territory, Rippletail told his mates he wouldn’t be able to see them as much anymore, but promised he’d meet them at Fourtrees as much as he could. Jayclaw went to Fourtrees every night. Oatclaw’s visits dwindled. Rippletail broke his promise, and barely spoke to Jayclaw anymore. Jayclaw still waits at Fourtrees.
I’m doing SkyClan next and then I might finish it with some facts about the Kin members? Like the rogues, not ShadowClan cats who joined them.
