What scares them about entering a relationship?
What frightens Esti most about the prospect of another relationship is the inevitable end. She genuinely does not believe herself lovable. Between her mother's abuse, her first boyfriend's abuse and the failure of her most recent relationship with Zale, all Esti can see is the one thread connecting the events together.
Her.
If she'd been someone else, anyone else, perhaps her father C'kyho would've accepted her and her mother into the tribe. If she'd been more somehow, perhaps Moran wouldn't have needed to seek out other bedmates. If she could be enough for someone, perhaps Zale wouldn't have needed to remain in relationships with other people.
It's deeply, deeply flawed reasoning, but from Esti's perspective, all she sees when she looks back at her experience with relationships is how they all eventually ended. Even the woman she had a brief fling with while trying to convince herself that she could live with polyamory left her.
Which must mean that if this little flirtatious crush between her and Dayar builds to a relationship, he'll leave her one day, too. If he doesn't declare a need for a tribal lifestyle that will make her leave just to preserve her sense of self, as she did with Zale, then he'll leave the way Moran or her fling did.
And she'll have yet another example to internalize, to reinforce her perception that she is, at the end of discussion, just inherently unlovable.
Coffee for...
At the coffee shop I now answer to Liz, Tess, Lucy, Victoria, Margaret and Sharon
So Misha orders an Iced green tea with only Ice and green tea and no water...
“That is NOT a latte! For christ sake are you so damned incompetent that mixing coffee and milk is too big a challenge for you!” She shouted at the idiot behind the counter. “I swear to god if you can’t produce a decent cup I will kick you from here to next Sunday you little maggot!” By now she was possibly shrieking. As the boy started making up silly excuses, Sarah’s last shred of self control slipped away. “Miss that is our latte I assure you that-” “What the fuck do they teach you here! You’re the sorries excuse for a barista I have ever met. I bet you have no friends at all do you? Who can bloody blame them, you look like a frog and speak like a chimpanzee.. No wait, thats an insult to those animals actually-” The brunette halted as someone grabbed her arm. “WHAT!?” She exclaimed, ready to tear this person too a new one.
My plan for building my closet:
Every time I get paid (which is every 2 weeks) I'm going to go to the mall and buy myself something nice. One piece of clothing. Singular. Uno. This way, I won't be broke, and I'll be getting all the staples and cute pieces I want to add to my closet :) I'm a genius, I know :*
