It was a peculiar circumstance, indeed. To be quite honest, Gwyndolin had never even considered that one of his servants— Blade or no— might request a gift of that nature over the possibility of a shield or sword after a job well done. None had dared to yet, anyway. Perhaps now he would watch for it.

Unsurprisingly, this particular bit of literature was hardly in character. Calvin, after all, had been nothing but loyal, respectful, fearful even to a degree. Why in Lordran someone would assume that the Dark Sun would serve him— in any manner— was abhorrent. He was, after all, human albeit a rather impressive one, one that the Dark Sun liked if truth be told.

Regardless of his respect for the man himself, Gwyndolin took the shreds of paper, shabbily hooked together, and tossed them into the fire, roaring nearby in his chambers. There was no need to share this with the poor soul, he decided. He doubted the warrior’s human heart could take it.
