Managing the kids’ schedules and the demands of a toddler on top of her responsibilities to the flower shop and their church found Eden stretched way too thin. And that is how one afternoon, when a strange conversation with one of the new guys in town seemed to correlate with Eden’s wallet disappearing from her pocket, she snapped in the playground beside the pool. Luckily, the kids were too busy swimming to notice.

Hers was a wallet stuffed with the day’s profits, hastily shoved in her pocket before running to pick up the kids from school, a wallet whose contents she was going to deposit after she took the kids to their swim lessons because she’d ran late, a wallet she really couldn’t afford to lose.
