Gil’s first evet pokemon was a Magicarp. He caught it down by the docks and he loved it, even though everyone teased him for having a ‘useless and dumb’ pokemon. Behind his back they muttered about how it suited him. Then one day Gil was swimming when one of TikTok’s kids began to swim after Gil and his Magicarp evolved to protect him. Gil’s Magicarp evolved into a RED Gyarados all because Gil cared for him with all his heart.
One day a Chansey followed Gil home. Everyone chuckled but agreed if anyone needed a motherly nurse-pokemon, it was Gil. Gil’s Chansey quickly adopted Uma and Harry as her charges, patching up every scrape and bruise, but it was clear Gil was her trainer.
Gil found a Bulbasaur one day when he was tending a small garden he’d been trying to grow to get a bit more food into the house for his mother. His brothers and father teased him for doing something un-manly like gardening but his new friend took over the garden, tending every seedling for his trainer. The more the garden grew, the stronger his Bulbasaur became until he finally evolved into Ivysaur.
Eevee was Gil’s second pokemon and he loved his sweet girl with his whole heart. She kept his feet warm at night and he always made sure there was something special on her plate. She loved him so much that she almost evolved into Sylveon but she knew there was no place for love on the Isle and Gil would be bullied if she evolved into that eeveelution. Gil fretted over his beloved Eevee for days as she shook with the effort it took to keep herself from evolving, the more he cared for her, the harder it became to keep from shifting. Eventually she ran away. The little Eeevee searched the Isle from top to bottom looking for a way to evolve into anything else until she finally found a Fire Stone. Newly evolved, Flareon raced home to Gil, grateful to finally be able to reunite with her trainer, and Gil was just happy to have her back.
