👻 - For something that scares or disturbs them, but they refuse to tell anyone
Like, so much.
Powerlessness.
Loss of control.
Emotional intimacy.
Growing old.
Losing the few people he actually cares about.
Failure.
Kal’s very messed up inside, and he’s frightened of a lot of things. He wouldn’t admit them to anyone, save maybe Theron or his therapist.
Certain words also disturb him, such as anything ending on ‘phobia’. It triggers intense feelings of panic, and he despises the reaction.
Another one is accidentally hurting someone he doesn’t wish to. For example, waking from a flashback nightmare to find that he’s driven a knife into Theron’s throat, or broken his neck. For this reason they both agreed to sleep separately when Kal is feeling particularly bad, and not to keep their concealed weapons under the pillows any more.
