Shayne: Sorry, buddy. I have a wife who I love.
@celestialmantdonna: Mantis knocked on the door of Ava's bedroom on the ship. She walked in carrying a pile of books, though she seemed to have no problem carrying them. "U-Um, I found these books about quantum physics, and since we are trying to find a cure for your condition, perhaps w-we... um, perhaps we could study... read these books together. Maybe we'll find something of relevance!" [ yeah yeah, "study" 😏 ]
Ava was in the middle of trying to get some alien seed to grow; she’d procured it almost a week ago, even invested in a pot and some soil to get the darn thing growing. Something green to have around for her to take care of. Sadly, it wasn’t yielding any results yet. “I appreciate your efforts but I think I’ve read every book about quantum physics under the sun. The only cure I found was temporary, and came from the quantum realm, not a place anyone should visit very often.” Ava stood from her seat and eased the pile of books out of Mantis’ hands. “Thank you for trying, though.”
HEADCANON ☆58
Mantis sometimes loves to lay next to Shifu and fall asleep as he meditates or plays his flute. He secretly loves to spend time with him, afterall he never really had a father...
Target fucking missed, Rocket. Nice aim, were you trying?
Not so Tiny Mantis could not resist the cuteness.
No one warned her.
Mantis did not like the cold.
The woman was not sure what was happening to her, but ever since the snow began to fall her body had started to shiver more often than the human counterparts surrounding her and she could not leave a heated room as long as humans could.
It made her fearful of leaving the caves for any period of time, though she knew she was needed to keep people calm she found that she was beginning to fear the cold. Currently, her arms were wrapped around her rubbing the fabric that now had to cover them in hopes that she could continue to be warm. She was crouched as far away from the entrance as she could possibly be, but not so far that the light the outside provided no matter how little it was could still allow her some sight in its dark depths.
And while the cold seemed to be a danger to her there was another entity she could see from the corners of her eyes. Mantis had been trying to ignore it, but whenever she sought out shelter in a cave sometimes in the darkness or the cracks in the wall she saw an all too familiar glow. Like his tendrils that glowed in the roots of her old home planet, they seemed to be rooted around her once more. It was terrifying for her. She knew Ego could not possibly have returned her mind must have been playing tricks on her. But still, her panic grew as she sat there curled on the ground continuously getting colder.
Mantis needed to move. To find Gamora or Rocket. One of the Guardians so she could feel safer. She looked to the entrance of the cave to see how the snow was falling only to be greeted by an all too familiar shadow. Of a man, she knew far too well
Ego.
But then the figure drew closer and they were not her old master. She must have looked very fearful sitting there curled in on herself, she also realized she had been addressed and slowly and very shakily she stood up.
“I-I-I’m sorry. C-c-c-could you repeat what you said? I-I was d-distracted.”
