One of my favorite parts of DMC4 is how Capcom managed to take this kid with super powers and make him the 'everyman' just by having so much crazy bullshit constantly happening around him that, naturally, he'll be asking WTF?? in every scene to a bunch of people who are gonna be cryptic weirdos.

From the official FFVII 10th Anniversary Ultimania (2007). "Weiss, the brother whom Nero blindly loves. White Weiss and Black Nero exist as two sides of one and the same body. They are inseparable."

From new Final Fantasy VII Remake: Material Ultimania Plus (2024) "Nero worships/strongly adore his brother Weiss and is highly dependent of him" Unfortunately, there is no photo. And that's all that was in the new Ultimania. Weiss didn't have a bio.

Note 1. worships - "suhai shi" can be translated both as worship and as great love and adoration, strong admiration. Note 2. Being highly dependent in a relationship means relying too much on another person for support, decision-making, and validation. This can often come at the cost of one's own self-esteem and autonomy.

Some signs of being highly dependent in a relationship include:

Jealousy Most romantic partners depend on each other to some extent. Emotional dependency is when someone believes they need another person to be happy or to feel complete. Those who depend on their emotions on other people, especially their romantic partner, need constant attention, approval, and support because they are unable to give it to themselves. Dependent people have an extreme fear of being not good enough, which comes from their deep-rooted childhood traumas and disappointments.

DMC 5 is actually a compilation of Nero getting disrespected by his uncle AND father.

Starting with Dante's classic dead weight comment. <3

Then Vergil snatching Nero's arm without asking nicely.

Then V(ergil), who had sm hope for Nero... only to be disappointed.

And Dante gotta add salt in the wound.

AND LET'S NOT FORGET THAT ONE DIALOGUE BETWEEN NERO AND VERGIL WHERE IT'S LIKE:

Nero: You feeling accepting yet?

Vergil: Of your existence? Or your strength?

Nero: Both, you fuckin' asshole!
