Hamilton legit went to a dinner party hosted by Jefferson and trolled him saying "Julius Cesear was the greatest man of all time" (bear in mind this is the dude that overthrew the Roman Republic and installed himself as emperor) and while Hamilton thinks this is a giggle, TJeff legit thinks its Hamilton admitting he wants to overthrow the government and plunge them into another monarchy. So for the rest of TJeff's life, he would tell this story to whoever would listen insisting Hamilton had shown his true colours.
