The new story is coming along. I feel bad about some of the things in doing to my characters. It's like my Empire Strikes Back. This is the story where the bad guys get the upper hand, the good guys realize they can do incredible things but have no application for them... American Sniper
So I watched American Sniper tonight with friends and I left the cinema feeling more empty than I did after finishing "Looking for Alaska". It also made me think that I'd like to write from the perspective of a character that suffers from PTSD. I feel like all of the characters I create tend to have some deep psychological scars. I never just write a regular guy or gal with regular issues. I think overcoming deeply personal psychological scars to be an extremely brave process to undergo and a process worth writing about. It could certainly be a great foundation for a villain or hero...depending on how they deal with it.
