Completed goal of finding every single soda tab colour

Pop tabs in this image:

Industry Standard Red: Standard

Orange: Standard

Yellow: Standard: Indented (which to my knowledge means sparkling soda/aspartame free but I do not know)

Green: Standard (Not industry standard green so that's fun)

Sugar Free Blue/Industry Standard Blue: Standard

Deep Blue: Standard

Purple: Arizona

Pink: Standard

Classifier's notes: Couple things here so it's list time!

The Orange and Green tabs are notably standard oval as opposed to standard smiley like the rest. This does not impact my classifying yet, although I need to start adding that in

THEY MAKE PURPLE ARIZONA?? Or is that another brand? That's one cool tab though.

What kind of tab is this??? It’s the main one in nz but idk what it is

Standard Silver: Arizona

Classifier’s notes: Hi!! Yeah, okay, so here in the general Rockies of the United States (specified to account for regional discrepancies in distribution), this style of tab is only used for one thing, Arizona Iced Tea! So that’s the label I gave them. After some quick research, I’ve determined that, yeah, apparently EVERYONE in New Zealand uses this tab for everything! It’s on Coca-Colas distribution and on all the regional goodies! I found one called Sidekick Soda that looks pretty good.

In short, this continues my arc of remembering that I’m U.S. centric and need to be more conscious about the terms I use like “Standard”, “Arizona”, even “Industry Standard”!

So with this, I’ll update my classification regarding this specific type of tab:

hey it's me again lol but i once found a really weird but cool soda tab at a bus stop but idk where it could possibly be from

Industry Standard Gold: Standard: Not Cut

Classifier’s note: You’re indeed right! This is a strange tab. So strange in fact, that I believe it to be a miscut. From your earlier comment (WHICH I WILL ADD TO MY POST BECAUSE ITS SO IMPORTANT ACTUALLY), I think it’s safe to assume that from your access to Spezi, that you might be from in and around Germany. The entirety of Europe’s regulations on can production is different to the U.S., my region, but you guys are lucky in that you get just so much creative minds behind your cans. (We have Standard Silver: Standard Coke here 😔). Nonetheless, the tab cut is intrinsic to the worldwide production of tabs, makes it easier for accessibility aids to use, makes them recognizable, uses less aluminum, so on and so forth. It’s safe to say miscut, but what’s interesting the lack of an indent at all, indicating that it may have skipped that part of the machine entirely! That gold is promotional as well, so it’s used in drinks where the color just looks nice on their branding.

I’m glad you got some enjoyment out analyzing my pile of tabs :) I’ll also ad that the gold one, I’m pretty sure it is pre-Liquid Death.
