Happy Halloween! Popoi is a character I always associate with Halloween, likely because he's both a black cat and (probably) a demon. I thought it'd be perfect to draw his Great Demon King alt to celebrate, especially since it was revealed in October last year (I tried drawing it last year too but alas, I had art block). I've had this done since the beginning of the month but I kept forgetting to post it, so I just waited until Halloween ^^' Hope everyone who celebrates has a good holiday!

Popoi has been one of my most favorite characters ever since I was 13, and every 2-3 years I like to make a fully rendered drawing of him to measure my growth. That and the fact I failed to draw him last year are two of the reasons I made this; the third is that I wanted a Halloween profile pic to use elsewhere but had already used both of his artworks last year, so I just thought "screw it i'll make my own". This started as a headshot but I had so much fun with the sketch that I decided to just do a full drawing. I like how Popoi himself came out, but I'm not really fond of the background. I played around with changes for a week but couldn't get anything I liked, oh well. Also I FORGOT HIS TAIL I'M SORRY I'M SORRY don't call me a fake fan I promise it's because his cape was originally wrapped around his body but I changed it rather late in the drawing process... (in my defense he sometimes lacked a tail in Fever) I also hope it isn't too obvious I don't know how to draw capes...

Great Demon King is easily my favorite Popoi alt, I just think he looks so cool with that fancy cape of his and it was a real treat seeing his Evil form finally get an alt. That being said, I do really love Santa Claws and Steam City Popoi too. I usually include both Popoi forms in my art, I don't know why but I feel a little bad giving one form more love than the other. To remedy this, I'm going to try drawing Santa Claws Popoi for the holiday season since that's also something I attempted and failed to do when he was first released lol.
