LMAOOOOOOOOOOO HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP i think he's about to burst a vein fr.
he smiles at you with strained, sharp teeth and squints at you with crescent-shaped eyes that twitch occasionally even as you're just standing there doing nothing. and when he speaks, it's in this terse voice that makes you wonder if you did anything wrong. this fish monster... thing obviously doesn't want you here, even as it's clear he's trying to force himself to calm down. he hasn't killed you yet, though, so you'll take it as a cautious win.
but when you warily start talking to him when it becomes apparent he has every bit of interest in you, his shoulders start to ease. he blinks and the teal glow of his gaze seems to soften.
and when he smiles at you, it's so familiar in a way that makes your stomach clench.
Bringing back an old fandom here— can i pretty please get a FNV fic with courier 6 being good friends with Marcus the supermutant? He’s such a cool dude I’d love to have some nuka with him
You’ve been pacing outside doc Henry’s place for what feels like hours, though the sun has barely moved in the sky. You know there’s a lot you could be doing right now—a lot of people counting on you to do the work no one else can be bothered with—but nothing shy of Legion attack could pull you away from your spot.
You have to be here for Lily. Just like she’s always there for you.
So you pace and tap your foot and pace some more outside the Jacobstown Lodge until you wear a path through the dirt.
“She’s going to be okay.”
You jolt at the sudden voice, shoulders tensing then quickly relaxing once you see who it is.
Marcus sidles up to you, his presence as calming as he is large. In his hands are two bottles of lukewarm Nuka Cola. He holds out one of them to you.
“Lily’s a tough ol’ gal,” he says, pushing the bottle closer to you until you finally take it. “And Doctor Henry is the best at what he does. It’ll take more than a few tests to hurt her.”
“Yeah,” you agree, but it’s obvious from your tone you’re far from reassured. You fiddle with the bottle in your hand, dirty fingernails tapping against the glass.
Marcus twists the cap off his own bottle, taking a swig of it, but keeps his eyes on you. He says nothing, just looks at you softly—almost expectantly—until the silence eats away at your nerves.
“It’s just—” you cut yourself off, not sure if you should say what you’re thinking out loud. But Marcus looks at you with eyes so soft and patient you feel completely disarmed by them. “I know Lily wants to do everything she can to help the other Nightkin, but why does it have to be her? She knows the risks to her mental state, her memory, but she’s so determined that it has to be her. Why does it have to be her burden to bear?”
And Marcus nods his head in thought and understanding, glass of Nuka Cola looking so small in his fist. “You’re right,” he agrees, “It isn’t her burden alone to bear. But she wouldn’t be Lily if she didn’t do everything in her power to help other people, even if it means putting herself at risk. Though I’m sure you wouldn’t know anything about that,” he teases with a flash of teeth.
You smile back sheepishly. He’s got you there.
“Now drink,” he says, lightly clapping you on the back of the shoulder. “You’ll be no good to Lily if she comes out and you’ve passed out from heatstroke.”
“Can’t argue with that logic,” you say as you twist off the cap and take a drink.
rotating the concept you posted earlier about tenna x music app darkner in my head because it’s so peak. Lord of Screens x Lady of Streams (my name for it lol) and all the tension that comes with it is such a delightful concept to explore. I feel like their public appearances on each other’s medium of choice would be so dramatic on both ends behind the scenes (giving the visiting guest an uncomfortable chair for their interview, craft tables full of food they hate) but behind the scenes theyre doing the most cliche rivals to lovers shit imaginable. Meme for understanding
is this anything
"is this anything" babe this is EVERYTHING
like ohhhh my god the uncomfy chairs and disgusting crafty table asldkfjd. i'm also thinking a lot about the different possible ways in which the Lady of Streams could present herself to the public.
bc, like, there's the version where she cares a good bit less than Tenna does about being universally adored. she'll play the game to get ahead, sure, but it's a bit different than his whole Running For Mayor Of Nothing schtick. he's built a career off of being wholesome daytime-TV host; whereas she, in this brave new modern era, could probably get away with a more "media training fears her" kind of public persona. she can get away with throwing cutesy little jibes at him on camera in a way that he cannot reciprocate, which would drive him NUTS. why do people like her for being mean? that would NEVER have flown in his day!
the other possibility is that she does care, and has somehow managed an image as the dark world's ultimate sweetheart. which would also drive him nuts, in the opposite direction. what do you mean everyone thinks she's sweet and charming. and how come she's sweet and charming to everyone but him. and how come people are starting to like her MORE than they like HIM ohhh he would throw a fit
the way you draw doey is SO good like
him!!!!!
EEEE thankyu!!!!! 🥺 <33

Hey you! What do you think was changed in Monty when he was upgraded to a glamrock, particularly with personality coding and appearance? Ty 😊
Hello there! <3
So for changes physically, the major being they made his colors overall a lot brighter to match the other Glamrocks. They also got rid of his webbed hands. He doesn't consider this a great loss because they were a pain to deal with.
They changed his overall headshape to better match a alligator. Forgoing his softer mohawk in favor of an easier to maintain plastic one. He absolutely hates this change, but there's nothing that can be done about it.
Personality wise -
Golf Monty was very polite and soft spoken. He wasn't innocent by any means, occasionally sneaking in dirty jokes for adults to enjoy. Very friendly and hard to annoy. Generally very helpful and knows how to deescalate situations quickly. You'd be surprised how angry folks will get during mini golf. Basically a very polite man who was happy where he was.
For Glamrock Monty, they rolled back on his politeness and upped his hostility levels. Making him the "angry rockstar" of the group. It was hard to adjust to. He still remains very helpful, but don't tell anyone. When they adjusted his polite levels, it removed some of his filter. Often just saying the first thing on his mind. Which isn't always friendly. He's easy to set off, so if he's in a mood, it's like walking a verbal minefield with him. He would never hurt anyone though. Monty isn't one for violence.

But with the glitched coding, that last bit got thrown out the window real fast. Realizing how strong he really was, and how fragile everything around him was. When the bad code is removed, he returns to not physically hurting people, but verbally he's a lot snarkier. Keeping everyone at a distance out of fear of returning to the glitched state.
