The Heights Creative Talk Series — Second Semester (February 2015)
Production Manager
For the second semester of the school year, Heights held three talks as part of The Creative Talk Series. For our first talk entitled "Ang Pagkatha kay Janus Silang", we invited Dr. Edgar Samar to discuss his writing process for his popular novel, Janus Silang, and to share what is to come for the novel's sequel. For our next talk entitled "Shakespeare in Pop Culture"—which was actually very timely for Valentine's Day—, we invited Mr. Carlo Rivera and Mr. Andrew Ty to talk about William Shakespeare's influence in today's films, television shows, characters, and everything else about pop culture. And for our final talk entitled "Art, Installed", we invited renowned art installation artists Mr. Toym Imao and Mr. Niccolo Jose to discuss their artistic process and the social relevance of selecting where to install their art. We really hope that these talks encouraged people to engage and explore art and literature, and to see how these all fit into the context of today!
