Comparing Policies between different countries...
-I see a lot of people comparing the government policies of different countries and claiming/asking, “Why can’t we adopt their government policies for us?”
-For example…
1) “… well, Germany provides Free Tuition for University to all students… why can’t America do that?”
Or… “Norway provides Free Medical Care… why can’t America do that?”
Or…. “Finland has the lowest Child Poverty Rate in the world… and they guarantee jobs to people under 25..why can’t we learn from Finland?”
The answer is easy….
1) The population size of the USA is a lot larger than most of its European counterparts…
- It’s easier to manage/control 10 people than it is to manage/control 100 people, right?
2) Germany, Finland, Norway, etc… these countries pay about 60% in taxes.
-So… all that Free University Tuition, Govt Income For Minors, and Free Healthcare is not exactly “FREE” is it?
-Americans here pay roughly 30-40% in taxes… depending on which tax bracket you fall into.
-Now imagine if Americans were forced to pay 60% in taxes?.. civil war would break out across the nation.
3) America has a lot more Diversity (immigrants from all over the world) in its population…
-Plus there is a larger discrepancy between Economic classes… obviously due to the difference in population size and societal/historical factors of power/authority abuse..
-So, any Elected Official will never be able to represent ALL groups within American Society… they can/will only represent the group that they resemble the most. ——————————————————————
Try to avoid the trap of regurgitating Sensationalistic Media Headlines... I know it's hard but those are designed to appeal to a person’s emotions… it is an effective strategy because once you grab someone’s emotional side then all of their logic goes out the window.
