His mother was absent and his father was verbally abusive, but didn't realize that he was abused until he relayed a story from his childhood to Sonic Boom. He used to look up to his dad, but then he joined the skylanders and realized that he deserves a better role model.
He's trans, ace, and gay.
While Sky Baron's do accept trans people, they don't accept people who are gay or acespec, so Jet-vac grew up afraid that he would one day be forced to marry a woman and have sex when he grew up. Thankfully, He joined the skylanders before society could pressure him to do so.
Jet-Vac used to be incredibly arrogant after joining the skylanders, but then he lost his best friend on a mission because of that arrogance, and vowed to follow the very letters of the rules from that day forward.
Has mentored and cared for several different cadets over the years. It's because of them that he's calmed down from the obsessive rule-worshipper he used to be.
While he isn't as uptight as he used to be, he still has his moments of over strictness. He learning though.
Married to Pop Fizz and has been for several decades, but the two of them used to be pretty petty rivals during they're early days as skylanders. They didn't start getting along until after Pop Fizz lost Wolfgang and Jet-Vac comforted Pop out of sheer kindness.
They didn't get together until after Pop Fizz learned to utilize his madness for the greater good and Jet-Vac learned how to relax though.
Additionally, he doesn't like Wolfgang very much.
He's the kind of guy who says the most utterly ridiculous words just to avoid swearing.

Jet-Vac: I love that he continues to fight for good and be there for the people that he cares about. Pop Fizz really opened my eyes in regards to how people truly work.
Pop Fizz: I love his stability and leadership skills. Without him, I'd be a lot worse mentally, and it's nice to know that I have someone to rely on when I need to.
