A Pretty Blue Gem
Sarah had just arrived home with her bags, some in her hand, some in the hands of the one following her. She wore a simple dress that accentuated her blue eyes, and helped make her natural green streaks that were already thinned and buried by her blonde hair look like nothing more but an optical illusion. However, the pastel shades contrasted her dark skin to where some would have stared. Sarah didn’t care, even with the cautionary words of her guard, who wore a simpler dress in a grayish blue about how the outfits brightness contrasted her skin’s darkness. As the new purchases were put on her bed, Sarah went through them, taking a moment ot indulge herself on a funtom chocolate from the case she’d gotten.
TO her surprise, however, one chocolate was missing, instead replaced by a ring that had a beautiful blue gem at it’s center. The surprise wasn’t unwelcome- perhaps there’d been a promotional thing she’d not heard of or the reason the case of candies was labeled “Surprise Pack” was for a non-candy surprise in the cases. Either way, she slipped it on her hand and continued searching for which bag had the hooded shawl she’d bought.
As she found it, she wrapped it around herself, pulling the hood over her head. She pressed an ear to the door, to make sure no one was approaching, and quietly opened up her window and crept out. She knew wandering around at night was foolish, and no one would expect her to try and leave after just returning home. Even so, she was a swift as she could be sneaking through the yard into the town.
However, once in town, she walked at a leisurely pace, taking in the sights without the issue of having someone floating over her shoulder.
No one even knows she’s out and about alone- how convenient.
