Pork Steaks
Don't treat em like beef
Pork Steaks
Onion, garlic, teriyaki sauce, salt, pepper, ginger, and diced onion. Flour for color.
Fry with oil over medium heat.
Coconut Rice
Rice, coconut milk, turmeric, salt, a bit of chicken bouillon, garlic powder, green onions.
I burned two of them because I thought they would cook like beef. But they were still good. I put them under the broiler for a bit because they needed color and one to cook through.
I'm going to make these again.
Pork steak with orange sauce.
I planned to use onion, red capsicum, and vinegar to make a zingy braising sauce, but my wife asked if we can have it with orange sauce, so I changed tack.
The flavours worked really well, but unfortunately I overcooked the pork. It is such an unforgiving type of meat. I'll have be more careful next time.
Pan-fried and oven-finished pork, with kumera and peas. I made the sauce with chilli, honey, mustard, and soy sauce.
