Skype & WampServer Conflict on Windows 7
Against my better judgment, I installed Skype for the 1st time on Windows 7 Professional. After starting Skype, I tried to start WampServer, but it failed. Apparently Skype uses port 80 by default, causing a conflict.
As pointed out elsewhere, the solution is to go into Skype's settings under Tools..Options..Advanced..Connections.. & uncheck the box "Use port 80 & 443 as alternatives for incoming connections"
