Sundays Are For Lovers
Sunday is the last day of the week. Some save the day for family and friends; some sleep late and indulge in laziness while other use it as a day to get things done. Depending on the day’s activities you either hate Sundays or love them.
Personally, I’ve had a mixed relationship with Sundays. Growing up Sundays meant going to church, frilly socks and Swedish pancakes. In high school they meant finishing homework and put off chores. Needless to say Sundays weren’t my favorite day of the week. Nowadays that’s changed. Sunday means time spent with Stephen. It’s the only day of the week we both don’t have school or work. It’s a day to sleep late, eat breakfast in bed, be creative adventure and take pictures.
This Sunday Stephen and I headed over to SE to explore Portland’s Flea Market. There were over 40 vendors selling antiques, repurposed furniture, vintage clothing and collectibles.

Next we drove over to SMUT Vintage where we sorted through a collection of vinyl records, post cards and a shoe box of old black and white photos.
I’ve always had a love for old photographs whether I know the people in the picture or not. Over the years I’ve collected more old photographs then I’d like to admit. Whether it’s from my grandparent’s basement or thrift shops. Today I added a few more to my collection…… I regret nothing! I think one of the greatest things about collecting antique photos is the mystery behind many of the pictures. Who were these people? Why do they bare the expression that they do? Do those homes still exist? Why are they posing the way they are? What became of them? It’s also a reminder of how fragile life is; that one-day all that might remain of us are photos, small glimpses of who we were and what we did.
After our thrifting adventure we headed to a coffee shop where we ended our day with lattes. Not a bad way to end the week.
