WIP of one of the portraits

Goin' out on a limb here, but maybe the photo is literally just there for the audience. I don't even know who else it could be besides Carla because THAT'S who it looks like. It doesn't look anything like Ma Pines or Red Herring Portrait Lady.

Yeah, not to mention, RHPL is already in the room and she’s got a completely different hairstyle altogether. It makes sense that Ford would keep her portrait around, since we know now she’s a family member, and not one of the random portraits that Stan’s hung up around the Shack.

Whiskey Tray PL has the closest resemblance to Carla so far (re: hairstyle), but it’s never clear enough for us to actually tell, which is perhaps maybe why it could be her... the GF crew doesn’t want us to know who it is just yet. They don’t anyone making the connection. The next ep was “Boyz Crazy”... and that’s when people would have made the connection. It would have been wayyyyy too early on. 

I mean, it looks like Ford cleaned up his room, so why would he keep a photo of someone he didn’t know? Or- if he did know who it was (re: his brother’s ex-gf), why would he keep it anyway? What’s even the point? He already has one portrait of a family member in the room, so perhaps WTPL is also a family member, so Ford doesn’t mind that she’s there, and keeps it. 

However... WTPL wasn’t there 30 years ago, implying that Stan may have placed it there, before taking on his brother’s identity. Whoever she is, she’s important to Stan..........

Hey! I like your blog ;) I was watching Carpet Diem and saw the mystery woman from ATOTS. If you go to about 12:19 on the youtube video by user "Hans Tom" you'll see her on the right in the background.

Yeah, I’ve been wondering about who she is for quite some time now. The general fandom consensus is that she’s probably Filbrick’s mother or aunt.

ALRIGHT NOW HERE'S AN AWFUL THEORY THAT I REALLY HATE! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

But. Shermy, I assume, is the diminutive of Sherman, right? So we're all assuming that Shermy is the baby (brother) we see GG Pines holding.

Okay. But. What if. Shermy was actually a sister...?

The way I'm thinking is that... Shermy was an older sister, got knocked-up, and had a kid out of wedlock. Then she skipped town (or kicked the bucket), but left her kid behind with her parents... hence the baby the GG is holding. Because she was never married, her son would have her last name (Pines), etc etc.

THE BIGGEST HOLE IN THIS THEORY:

• Ford was surprised that he was an uncle, implying that the baby GG was holding was not his nephew. This also goes for the theory that Shermy was an older brother. That's not Shermy's kid! FORD WOULD HAVE KNOWN. The guy has a freak IQ. As far as we know, he was scribbling down the math to figure out whether Stan was lying or not in this scene:

What else could he have been writing so furiously??

Any other holes?

• While the woman in the portrait is implied to be a close family member to Ford (he took her portrait with him to college and eventually hung it up in his bedroom in the shack). Her hairstyle is more reminiscent of the 1920s, so she could be a grandmother, aunt, etc, rather than an older sister. • Shermy isn't exactly diminutive of any female or gender-neutral names. It's strictly a male name. (take it from someone whose hobby is in anthroponyms) Unless Filbrick wasn't expecting a girl and gave her a boy's name... which I seriously don't see happening. GG would have stepped in. She woulda spoiled her lil' Jersey Girl too! Trust me.

CONCLUSION:

Shermy is not the grandparent! Stan is still a liar! He's been lying to his family for 30 years, you guys think he's gonna stop now? lmao please
