The blur enhances this photo by making it seem dreamy. It takes away from the literal meaning of a girl standing by a bike, and turns it into a fantasy, like there is a deeper meaning behind the girl and the bike.

This filter enhanced my photo because it changed the foliage to a vibrant red. It also highlighted the slight red highlights in the girl’s hair to a much darker red, along with enhancing her eyes to a bright blue color.
The top photo is the regular photo with no filter and it has more color to it that makes it seem more warm because of the brighter orange tint to the photo. The second photo has a filter on it that decreases the color, the decrease in brighter colors makes it seem dreary like it was taken on a cloudy day.
The blur on the photo enhances the photo to make the focus on the girl because it the only part that is completely clear. The blur radiating from the girl makes the girl seem very important. The background that is blurry draws the attention to the only completely clear part of the photo not to any of the background.
My fellow classmate Ashley interpreted this portrait. She said that the young girl in the photo has red flowers in her messy bun. She has an annoyed expression on her face and that she seems to be staring off into the distance. The plain white t-shirt and the plain white background bring extra focus to the red flowers in her hair and the red splotches n her face.
My classmate, Clare, says that the girl looks at ease because she is relaxing, as there are no heavy ripples in the water. The girl seems comfortable in the water because she has a smirk on her face, which would suggest that she is used to being in the water. I had a similar interpretation, which I think it is very interesting because most of the time two different people have two different perspective when they look at it alone.
My classmate Annie said that the girl looks as if she is in a daze because she is serious and glaring off into the distance. Even though she is by a bike, it doesn’t seem as if she is going to use it for a ride or exercising purposes because she is in jeans and a nice top. The blur and lighting makes it seem dreamy because of the streaks surrounding the girl.
This is a portrait that I took of a young girl who is sitting alone in a car and is wearing a purple high-necked shirt. For this post I was assigned to add a blur effect to a portrait photo. The photo on the left and the photo on the right has the blurring effect added. I chose this photo because the background was mostly empty. The blur enhances the photo because it draws attention to the subject and her facial expression. This blur makes the subject the main and only focus of the photo and forces the viewer’s eyes towards the most important part of the photo.
