CW: Homophobia, transphobia. A couple of people in the comments for the newest #portscenter (link in bio) have taken me to task for calling Doug TenNapel out on his homophobic and transphobic comments in the last. Apparently I should let it go because he's "just a hardcore Christian," or that I should "ease up in those who don't agree with [my] moral standard." To this I say, basically, fuck off. Is that too harsh? I don't think so. TenNapel and people like him believe that me and people like me do not deserve the same basic rights at people like him - straight, cisgendered men, of course. I don't owe him any kindness, any thought or consideration. I don't owe his opinion or beliefs any respect because his beliefs include not seeing people like me as, well, people. I will never apologize for calling a bigot a bigot. You can't "he's just" away that kind of prejudice, and I refuse to. If that puts you off, if that means you'd rather not watch my videos, hey, there's the door. There are plenty of conservative gaming folks on YouTube who don't give a shit, and you are welcome to watch their videos instead. I would rather have 12 people watching my videos who are kind, caring and compassionate towards people different than myself than have 12,000 who think the way TenNapel does. I don't expect to change any minds, but I also don't need to be accommodating to bigotry.
