Hey Anon! Hope you're good! I had to really think about what I could post that wouldn't completely give plot away but here you are!
This update is called "Me and You Together Song". The first part will upload before Christmas, and the plan is two more updates over the holidays. Loving being back in this fictional world! Hope you guys like it....!
“So how’s things with you?” Matty asked, mid-gulp of Merlot. He felt himself instantly relax as he swallowed. “Fuck, that’s good.”
“Where’s the sugary shite you usually drink?” Ross gave him a pitying look. “I’ll get it for you if you’re too embarrassed to ask for it. I’m man enough.”
“I’m touched.” Matty placed one palm over his chest. “I’ve got really into red wine recently. Maybe I’m finally growing up. Anyway, yeah. What’s happening? Loads must be happening. You’re having a fucking baby.” He sensed, as always when Ross was ripping the piss out of him, that he had a lot on his mind.
“Yeah, I’m fine. We’re all fine. I mean, I don’t wanna bore you.”
Matty detected the tone. “Oh, don’t be pissy with me. I do care. It just would be good to get a menu of conversation topics to choose from.” He smiled at Ross. “You’ll be an awesome dad. Just don’t scratch the kid to fuck with that beard.” He took another gulp of Merlot to steady himself. “I do need to talk about something, actually,” he blurted out, surprising himself by how nervous he sounded.
“Oh yeah?” Ross looked at him curiously. “It’s only May though. Bit early for your annual anxiety-fest about George proposing isn’t it? Unless-” He watched Ross visibly perk up. “Fuck, he’s not finally persuaded you to say yes to him?”
