There are very few things more stressful to me than filling out the “social location/positionality” portion of qualitative presentations or research.
Like, hello, I don’t know what I am, identity is complex, and I don’t want you rolling up with popcorn to observe my race- & ethnicity-related family trauma and my non-existent gender identity. like, goodbye lmao
I get why we do it but also LET ME BE CONFUSED IN PEACE Edit: Also, it’s no one’s business whether I consider myself disabled. Why the f*ck would I want colleagues to have that information in a non-controlled environment? Absolutely bonkers in the way these things backfire to screw some of us over.
