On the topic of non Asian people learning EA languages: My best friend was adopted from china when she was <1 year old, and is a grade below me. I started taking mandarin in high school and the next year when she started taking it I let her use my old notes and helped her with stuff, so now we can both speak mandarin (after four years of studying lmao) to each other when we're together and its funny watching people's faces when we do. It was fun learning the language together :p I recommend
