I headcanon that Pospos is actually fond of rats, infact has maybe a couple at home as pets, and I think Yanyan would also like rats as well, so maybe she'd see him delivering to their house one day and goes up to him and starts rambling on about rats and how cool they are, he'd like to listen but also has other stops to make, meanwhile Meemee has to drag her away telling her he's busy

I doubt Pospos realizes how concerning his poor memory might be, it isn't just people's names (including his wife's), it's also names of places and objects (which describe anomic aphasia), he didn't quite remember the work "ball" (when he asks you if that's a ball you're in), he didn't remember "king" or "queen" (he knew there was a royal connection), but it interferes with his ability to express what he wants to say, and makes communication difficult for him
