‘The Aftermath of Possession’ Prompts
Anonymous said: Ayyyy Angst-Anon here! 🌚 How about the possessed person seriously hurts their lover and THEN is released?
Anonymous said:How about a little twist on the possession prompts? Maybe their lover has been possessed by a "good entity" who is only in there to help them and is just now revealing themselves? Sort of like the lover and the entity are playing co-op with one body. Hero might be a little concerned because the lines between them are beginning to blur or hurt because they were never told this? Whatever you choose I'm sure will be lovely!!
Anonymous said:Gosh dang it! Well now we super duper need prompts in where the hero or lover kicks that possessing demon asshole back to hell and has cuddles and smooches afterwards from all the bull that thing put them through!!!
1) “No - no-” It was an agony to be left with the shattered aftermath. A further cruelty rather than a victory. They scrambled over to their lover, cradling their broken form. Smoothing their hands through their hair as if that might keep it all together. “It’s going to be okay, you’re alright, I’m going to fix this.” Their vision blurred with tears. “I’m going to fix this.” Their lover caught their hand and squeezed, a far too feeble touch. They both knew that if it could be fixed, they’d be on the phone to the hospital or fixing it or doing anything other than making such promises on their knees. “Stay away from it - don’t try and get revenge.”
2) “I - I know you are not fond of me,” the creature said. It hovered awkwardly on the edge of the room, twisting its fingers into the sleeve of a jumper. “Oh, I haven’t even began making my lack of fondness for you known.” The creature wilted, swallowed, and the human did their best not to feel guilty. “I know you’re not fond of me,” they started again doggedly. “But we both want what’s best for [name]. We have to work together to achieve that.” “See, but I don’t think you’re what’s best for them. I think you’re a parasite that makes a joke of their free will and agency.”
3) They stirred, every inch of them aching, not particularly having expected to stir again. “Oh thank god you’re awake.” Their lover was bent over them in an instant, relieved and smiling. “We were so worried.” The ‘we’ still made them twitch a little. “What happened?” “[Creature’s name] saved you.” Their lover looked a little distressed. “It’s almost vanished now, I think its exhausted. Wounded.” Their heart slammed at that fact. “...it saved me?”
4) “Hey, you. Welcome back.” The lover tried to sound casual. The guilt rushed over the protagonist at the lover’s smile, their concern - after what the demon had done in their body, the protagonist felt little deserving of kindness. They willed the tears down but they sprung up all the same. “I’m so sorry-” Their lover’s eyes widened. “Oh, no. None of that. It’s not your fault. Hey.” They caught the protagonist’s chin in their fingers so their gazes could lock. “It’s not your fault.” A kiss, and the words again, another kiss.
5) The protagonist punched through the mirror, unable to bear looking at it a second longer. Not when their own face now gave them nightmares, and the monster seemed their own skin. They cut their hair, dyed it, did everything they could to change it. But still they saw the monster. They muffled a scream in their hands. Heard the sound of running feet, and then their lover in the splintered reflection. The violence ashamed them now. The shattered mirror shamed them. Their lover didn’t hesitate, however, in coming over. Catching their hand gently, and pressing a kiss to bloodied knuckles. “If you don’t trust your eyes, trust mine. I know who you are.”
6) “Don’t touch me!” “It’s me - it’s me I swear!” “I don’t care.” Their lover moved back, cradling their broken limbs to their chest, hunched protectively over their wounds. “Stay the fuck away. I don’t want you near me.” The protagonist froze.
