#possible paralells

Is it just me or are Dorian & Manon having some major parallels?

okay, so i have never watched supernatural but i have seen a lot of analysis and various things for the show on my dash (also, i have read a couple of fanfictions with characters inserted into the spn universe) so i think that i have a bit of knowledge about it. (not extensive or anything so all of this might be completely inaccurate) 

as far as i can tell, it seems that after mary's death, john tried to meld dean into (i remember someone using this term) "the perfect soldier" and i think that he was supposed to always put sam before himself. 

elsa's father (and maybe even her mother) thought of elsa as a bit of a monster because of her powers. the most important thing was concealing them, making sure that they stayed under control "being the good girl" and making sure that anna didn't get hurt. 

i suppose all i'm saying is that they've both become very protective of their little siblings and have asshole parents that have pre-decided what they have to do in order to be "good". 

if anyone can also see the parallels, watches supernatural and would like to write a more in-depth comparison, feel free to do so. if i'm on the right track, i'd love to see the parallels coming from someone with a more in depth knowledge of supernatural.
