(Iris + Tony) unexpected circumstances

Iris sat in the lab she had been locked in for almost two weeks now, papers and blueprints scattered all over the desks and the floor. Her previous science partner was now dead, her captors had killed him when he had attempted to escape and frankly it was a bigger motivator for her to try to escape. She could have had the weapon finished in ten minutes actually, the design and idea was complicated but her power would have done wonders at this point however she knew that to many people would have gotten hurt if she did plus they would have just killed her sooner.
Iris heard voices out in the hall and sighed stepping back to the farthest wall from her work space, it was a drill that had happened after she had attacked someone with a screwdriver but because they had needed her she had been kept alive though she did have a few new scars to prove that something had been done and she knew not to try it again. When the door opened she looked up and she felt her stomach drop to the floor as she saw just who they had dragged in to be her new partner on the project.
“Miss Mauro I’m sure you’ve heard of Mr. Stark,” One of her kidnappers told her Iris swallowed the lump in her throat and nodded trying to act as casually as possible
“yes,” she said softly brushing her hair back out of her eyes
“Get him caught up on the project and get to work.” with that their Captors left them alone Iris sighed and ran a hand through her hair frustrated
“So they just grab you off the street too or did they have to trick you thinking this was some kind of press conference?” iris asked him she hoped her joke might make a bit of light out of the situation as she went back over to her desk to work on her blueprints again
