Possum Dixon "S/T" LP. My dad was the original Possum Dixon fan in the family back in 1993. He listened to modern rock radio whereas I got most of my music from MTV. So he had this CD and one Saturday morning I was watching Alvin and The Chipmunks and my mom offhandedly said during the closing credits music "that sounds like the chorus of that watch that girl destroy me song your dad likes" while making breakfast. This intrigued 12 year me for some reason. So I went and found the CD and listened to it and loved it, though I never did get where my mom made the connection between the two. Regardless, I became a lifelong Possum Dixon fan there. I was amazed to find out years later that they toured with my yet to be discovered, all time favorite band, The Dead Milkmen, which is a show I'd have killed to attended. While I think their sophomore effort is the group's crowning achievement, I do love the debut and have long searched for it on vinyl. I recently got a copy and had to take the shrink off because there was filth underneath, luckily the jacket wasn't damaged and I was able to save the hype sticker. So all's well. Now I just need to find a copy of their final album for a reasonable price on vinyl and I'll have 'em all. Aside from wanting this on wax because it was a favorite and definitive album from my youth, I was also curious about it because wjen I got "Star Maps" on vinyl about 10 years ago and had nowhere near an audiophile-esque system, the sound quality of that record astounded both my friend and I listening to it for the first time on vinyl and we both knew the album well from owning it on CD for years, so I was extra curious if this release would be magical too.
