i stared at this ad for a good long while before realizing there isn’t a meme. this is just what tumblr is now

Modern ship culture is so weird though.

Because in terms of mutuals, especially from back when I first joined, OTP and ‘we’re all crying about fictional gay couples’ type posts are like dead, no one on my dash ever posts them anymore, including me. (Though most have moved on to a more shitposty version of those posts)

And yet whenever I go into tags for certain pairings, even the ones in series I got into after I moved on from the younger fangirl mindset, I still see all these posts that are like ‘when I see the OTP’+ a misha collins gif

So we have this weird divide of like older, cynical users who have rejected most shippy terminology and ‘fangirl’ mannerisms and yet also newcomers who are using our terminology from a few years ago.

And neither group is at all aware of the other because we’re either too new or too aware to follow from the others.

I dunno it’s just interesting.

Ugh I hate wen I catch a typo after it's been reblogged. Such is the wow of mobile blogging. Dudes. I'm stuck on my plane. Not enough gates to get us all off. We went in a circle. Bless my aunt who deals with me pre, during and post con. FOR THE PAST 4+ YEARS She saw I was in my usual post con mode so she's taking me to see Dawn of the Apes! I love her so much! Seriously, bless her heart!
