The man just /kept talking/. Kept tormenting him verbally about the First World War. How Wilhelm was a coward to leave the trenches and how he deserved everything he got. It just kept going and going. Until the usually nervous German snapped. “Schweigen! Genug!” he yelled, shoving the other German away from him.
Then, he could of swore he blacked out.
When he mentally came back, the scene before him was as if it was right out of a horror movie. Blood was all over. Who’s blood was it? He felt some pain, but his heart sank when he saw the other German. Beaten and stabbed to death. Klink realized he was holding his old helmet from the first war, its point res with fresh blood. Finally, he looked up to see one more person, someone that wasn’t here earlier. Colonel Robert Hogan.
With the adrenaline dying down, Wilhelm could feel his whole body tremble. Enough that he could no longer hold the helmet that fell with a ‘thud’. “What have I done..?”
The second Rob sensed that the argument he and Kinch were listening to via the coffee pot was going to escalate he rushed over to the Kommandant’s office. Why exactly he wasn’t sure but the most rational reason was that he coudn’t afford letting Klink get set to the Russian Front because he lost his temper with this guy. And there was just something about the voice of the other fella, that sneering, cruel arrogance that had made his skin crawl from the moment he first heard it.
The way from Barracks 2 to the Kommandantur was a minute at best. How much coul possibly happen in that amount of time?
Eyes wide in shock and frozen to spot where he stood in the doorway Rob’s gaze travelled from the bloodied, motionless man up over to Klink. It took for the noise of the helmet falling to the floor for him to snap out of it, quickly close the door behind himself, lock it and without second thought take the few steps over to Klink. “You alright?” he asked, and grabbed him by the arms to make the German face him, looking him over. “Kommandant, are you alright?” he repeated, more urgently this time.
