I may bite my doctors next time I see them. They are refusing to prescribe pain meds. They cut up my motherfucking spine but won’t give me pain meds. AAAAAAAAAAAAA

I do not recommend recovering form spine surgery with no pain meds
-1000000 out of 10, one of the worst experiences I have had
They stole my spine

Well it’s been six days since my surgery. I am going longer between needing pain meds and so far still only my back is hurting hurting. My chest isn’t sore and feels okay. Buttt it looks awful. It’s bruised sooooo yellow and green and swollen it’s kinda weird to see it look like that but not have it hurt.
I’m in that stage where it’s all ‘hell yeah i’m so cool i have STITCHES and i might get SCARS’ but i’m also flipping between that and ‘i wonder how long i’ll have to go with bandaids getting stuck to my tummy hair and how long will it be before I can bend over and open gates and pick stiff off the floor agin??’
Today was my first real driving adventure since my back surgery three weeks ago. I drove to my mom’s (about 5 miles away), and then to the mall and back, which is probably a total of 30 miles round trip. I didn’t hurt, per say, but between that and walking the mall for a few hours I *am* absolutely exhausted.
Its probably a good thing that I don’t have any conventions coming up any time soon, because I’d probably not survive @_@
Also probably a good thing I haven’t actively started on any sewing, because that is also, oddly, very tiring currently.
Post surgery ramblings - under a cut for some TMI stuff!
I’m home now, which is awesome. But I’m keeping my diet to mostly soft / liquid foods because I’m terrified to poop. My back already hurts from the surgery and that is a terror I’m not yet ready to face.
Right now I am super glad of three things. 1) that my twin had this surgery before me and can reassure me of whether what I’m feeling is normal or not. 2) I have good pain meds. and 3) I had my period exactly one week prior to surgery, so by the time that horror revisits me, my stitches will be out and I won’t be super sore (and there’s the TMI XD)
I’m also really greatful that my twin and grandpa are being so accomidating to me, because I’m like... not allowed to do anything. Which is a pain. I’m a horrible patient, it makes me feel guilty to ask them to run for things for me or pick up my laptop etc. But they do it for me anyway and I’m greatful.
I have to call in on Monday for more blood work though, because apparently my white cell count was up - and its already been confirmed that I have a super shitty immune system, so they want to triple check to make sure its not anything bad. Thanks, immune system, you useless piece of shit.
I have a 3 month vacation from work, and that’s nice? Gonna work on cosplay stuff as soon as I can sew again.
But yeah, that’s what’s been going on with me. If I spam your dashboards with repeats of artwork and stuff, I apologize. The meds make me loopy and I don’t always remember what I’ve already posted ^^;
