Request: (Bucky x Asexual!Reader) Hiii I was wondering if you could do a bucky reader imagine where they’ve been dating for a little bit and then the reader decidess to tell bucky she’s asexual and he’s confused at first by what it means and yk fluff?
Warnings: lots of fluff, a coming out story, an asexual reader, like one cuss word
Word Count: 671
A/N: This is my very first non straight reader, let me know what you think, and if I did something wrong, let me know please. I hope I got asexuality accurate, I know everyone is different but I tried to make it as broad as possible so more asexual identifying could relate. But other than that it’s short sweet and fluffy
Hope you enjoy, feedback is always welcome!

It was tomorrow and you had to tell Bucky. Yeah, you had been thinking about this decision for a long time, it wasn’t just a spur of the moment idea to blurt out this important piece of information about yourself. It’s just there was a pride parade tomorrow that you wanted to go to with Bucky, and had to explain first why you were there. How not only were you a supporter of the LGBT community, you were a part of it. And a minority as well, being the prideful asexual you were.
You and Bucky were just in the beginning of a relationship, just started to date recently, you hadn’t become intimate yet, so the need to tell him hadn’t come up yet. But it was slowly eating you from the inside, you really wanting him to know, and to support you fully. Yeah, the rest of the Avengers knew, they were more up to date with society, and you had told them with ease, but Bucky, he was just healed from Wakanda and was so checked out of society, still stuck with a 1940’s mentality, that it seemed more of an intimidating task.
Nodding to yourself in the mirror, determination coursing through your eyes, you walked out to find Bucky somewhere in the tower. While you knew Bucky was only a gentleman and would never hurt you purposely, your hands started to sweat at the idea of telling him and possibly rejecting you.
Finding him alone on the couch in the living room, you plopped down next to him, giving him a peck of the cheek.
“Hey Buck. I need to talk to you about something important.”
Fear showed in his eyes, his head whipping towards you, “What? What’s wrong? Did I do something?”
Letting out a chuckle, you put your hand on his soothingly, “Oh Buck, you’re fine. I just wanted to tell you something about myself. You know about the LGBT community right?”
He nodded, “Yeah, Steve had told me about it. I found it very refreshing that less people were being held down by society compared to the 40’s”
His words settled you down a bit, more confidence surging in you, “Well, Bucky. I’m an asexual.”
Confusion clouded his features, eyebrows scrunching, “A Sex You All?”
You giggled at his odd pronunciation, “No, an asexual. I’m part of the LGBT community. I don’t have a sexual orientation, meaning I have a lack of sexual attraction to others.”
Bucky’s face fell, becoming sad instantly, sort of resigned, and you immediately knew what he was thinking, “Wait Bucky, I’m not breaking up with you. I’m sort of, special. While I don’t have sexual desires, I’m a big romantic. I can fall in love. I have some desires like kissing and cuddling. I just don’t really like sex…” to said trying to explain to in simpler terms.
Your words trailed off, as you watched Bucky’s face as he registered your words. Then all of a sudden, a big smile grew on his face, resulting in all the pent of stress to instantly leave your body.
“Oh thank God, you’re not breaking up with me!”
He pulled you into a bear hug, almost squeezing you too tight, but you enjoyed it immensely. Pulling back he gave your forehead a soft peck of his plump lips. Looking into your eyes, he asked, cocking his head to the side, “I’m so glad you felt comfortable enough with me to tell me this, but why did you do it now?”
Smiling sheepishly, you responded, “Well… There’s this LGBT pride parade tomorrow, and was wondering if you’d like to come with me?”
Even though you thought it wasn’t even possible, Bucky’s smile grew even wider, showing off his perfect white teeth. “I’d love to doll.”
So 24 hours later, you found yourself sitting on Bucky’s shoulders, an asexual pride flag draped over your own shoulders like a cape, surrounded by fellow LGBT members and supporters. Bucky whooping and hollering, while he walked down the street, and you were the biggest shit eating grin on your face.
