The Gameplan (PC, Revision 3)

Officially. This is the third major revision of Post Crusade. The first revision was in June, and the second was in September. This is the biggest one yet, and I'm scrapping a lot of stuff and replacing it with more fine and rational ones.

In Rev 2, I had 4 potential resolutions/endings in mind, and I constantly mixed and matched them around to see which scenario works and which ones can be scrapped. BAD.

I now have a definitive ending. Meaning, I know where everything is supposed to lead up.

But how will I get there? I need material in between now and then. And that's a lot of space. In Rev 2, I had just lined everything up into a single linear storyline and constantly changed it and accidentally making knots in it. BAD.

I've divided the empty space into 4 sections. They serve no purpose other than critical milestones. Now, I can write for just one section at a time and plan accordingly for the next one.

Rev 1 had me planning out longer arcs that are supposed to develop the characters. I'm doing it wrong. I've been diving into key parts of their personalities without explaining much.

That's what this first section is going to fix. Character development is now embedded into the story more cleanly and subtly. It'll be less jarring and more smooth, and it's one general plot line. There'll be very little side-stories and offbeat comics. There will also be flashback scenes in order to address previous events that have been mentioned, but never really told. And yes, they'll flow right into the story.

In Rev 2, I had planned to add more secondary characters to the blog. Still doing that, but not as much. I'll be adding characters only if they're vital to the story.

In Rev 1 and 2, I began building a universe. It's still there, but it won't be as obvious. The differences will be more subtle and closer to canon. Though, anything that's been done as a result from this world-building (like the juice bars and the PinkieDash partnership) remains canon.

The result is PC turning into a full-fledged story blog, with asks being used as assistance. Everything runs on a single storyline for the entire section.

I should have most everything set up by this weekend. I hope this works out well, and I'm confident that it will.

Since they're so popular now, I might as well reveal the others' Metaphorically Visible Emotions, or MVEs.

Apple Bloom: Natura the Apple Blossom of Maturity. It's actually Apple Bloom's thoughts on maturing, so it frequently yelps out, "You are now in heat" or, " There's Scootaloo, stare at her haunch." Like Scootaloo, Bloom has the problem where she sometimes takes Natura seriously. >_>

Dinky: Ben the Empty Black Dwarf (Star). Basically, it's the same thoughts that Sweetie had succumbed to; nihilism and the emptiness of reality. Unlike Sweetie, Dinky chooses to ignore it almost completely, which is why she's intelligent, yet spontaneous and positive.

Rumble: Clara the Panphobic Cloud. It's all possible fears wrapped up in a wispy pack of bullshit. He chooses not to listen to it... unless it's something that he's legitimately afraid of. Examples include large bodies of water, wildfires, and sometimes even Scootaloo.

Don't get too attached to them, though. Only Clyde plays a key role in PC. The others are just there to acknowledge that they exist (aka your entertainment). You might not even see them all. :/

New Scripts

So. New strange and messy stories are lined up for PC 2016. Not all of them will make an appearance and others might pop up later.

33 Shades of Scarlet: Dinky reluctantly holds a sleepover with her two background friends. (Coming up next.)

The Cutie Mark Lodge: We take a look at the inner workings of the famous Manehattan CMC, and their new leaders. (Guest starring Babs Seed and Silver Spoon)

Apples Piling High: Apple Bloom and Applejack race to see who can buck the most apples in 3 days.

Coffee Killer: Sweetie's new liquid toast store threatens to distract potential customers and business from Rarity's boutique.

The Rumble Games: Apple Bloom loses it and will go to great lengths to win back the love of her life. (Half of you are going to love this.)

Hardcover Dragons: Tensions rise when Sweetie is forced to work at the library along with her ex, Spike.

Ward of the Devious Duo: Scootaloo documents her time with Rainbow and Pinkie as her co-guardians.

Study Hall: Apple Bloom and Dinky try to study for a test they "forgot about" and keep getting distracted.

Hiking Date: Rumble and Scootaloo go out for a hike in the Whitetail Wood to collect specimens for a science experiment. (The other half will love this.)

I was having tacos for dinner with the brother. Then he asked out of nowhere, "So where exactly are you going with Post Crusade?"

At this point, I'm not entirely sure of a general path which PC will take. But I decided to humor him, and talk about some bullshit ideas that came out of my head at that moment.

The result was this. (Contains PC lore, and some spoilers.)

Well, let's think about this. It's a strange fate between these characters (the three original CMC). They have this  connection between them, and it's not normal. I'll tell you why.

Do you know how Scoot's parents died? Keep in mind that this story was written a long time before PC was officially started. Scoot's dad (Dust Devil) was a commander in an Emergency Weather Control team. They deal with weather problems such as rogue storms and severe storms. 

So one Hearth's Warming Eve in 2006, a rogue storm descended onto Canterlot. It was wild storm with rain, high winds, and lightning, and it was to cause bad damage to the city. Canterlot Castle was evacuated, except for one filly who was stuck in her room. EWC was called in to deal with the storm, and to rescue the filly, whom we all know as Twilight Sparkle. Dust's team was in charge of the rescue. However, as they were approaching the castle, the team was stuck by lightning, killing 6 of them including Dust.

Twilight has no idea that her refusal to listen to directions (thus trapping her in the castle) led to the death of Scoot's dad, and the disappearance of her mom. And Scootaloo doesn't know that Twilight is the reason her dad died. If there wasn't a rescue to begin with, then they could've lived.

However, once Twilight or Scoots finds out that they are connected this way, everything will change. Just them meeting is a major point in fate.

The storm itself was confusing. It came from nowhere. Some blame another town for loosing control of the storm. Others think it just formed on it's own. Closer investigations show that it had a magical aspect to it. As if it was formed from a spell.

Then we have AJ and AB, whose parents (in PC) died of mysterious causes. Officially, it was a carriage crash. But that's it. There's no more information. There weren't any witnesses or evidence of any foul play. The carriage the killed them was unmanned and unregistered. It too, came from nowhere. The nature of the carriage was otherworldly.

Then there's Sweetie Belle, who has a magical quantity unlike any other for her age. She registered a .31 mu (Twilight is .49 and Celestia is 1.0). Such amounts of magic and it being controlled is unheard of.

And these three meet. They share qualities with the Mane Six. Apple Bloom's defensiveness (AJ). Scoot's shyness and carefulness (Fluttershy). Sweetie's magical power (Twilight). And the bizarre natures of their histories. It starts to stir up some conversations. Is it destiny? Are these fillies meant more to each other and the world than they think? It sounds like some conspiracy. I'm gonna be blunt. What if they're the next Elements of Harmony? What if their misfortunes are just a part a massive ploy.

Then there are three other foals from the other side of Equestria. Friends from the start, they join a great and growing new idea. As blank flanks, they vow to somehow find their place on Earth in the Manehattan CMC. Sounds familiar?

All it takes is one little meeting. It could reveal a dark secret to Equestria. And it just might be the most shocking and dangerous adventure they had ever face.

So what are my plans for Post Crusade? I have no idea. But whatever it is, it's big.
