Okay, I Seriously Need Help Here
This isn't about me, but rather my mother.
She's postmenopausal and earlier today she apparently started her period again. I did some research and this seems to have happened to quite a few women in their 50s or so (I'm not exactly the best researcher though; scrolling through one forum doesn't exactly calm my nerves) and there seems to be a number of reasons as to why this happened.
(Apparently) The most common explanation is hormone replacement therapy, and seeing as I'm a teenage girl, I do not know what the hell that is, but my mother isn't on any sort of medication or treatment. In fact, she detests doctors and hasn't seen one in a long while and seems to be in well enough health.
Another explaination is "Overgrowths of the lining of the uterus may develop that are called "hyperplasias", and some of these are potentially pre-cancerous" so you can imagine that last word has me pretty fucking scared. I don't believe my mother's family has any serious health issues aside from -- as far as I know -- diabetes, but I'm still scared out of my mind.
So, if anyone knows anything, please, please tell me. She's going to the emergency room tomorrow morning in the nearby town's hospital; I'm trying not to worry, but to be frank, this year has been extremely hellish and I don't want anymore pain on my family.
