Akira and Ryuji, idiots united.

“I betcha I could take a full-on punch in the face from you,” Ryuji said suddenly one day while hanging out in the attic of Leblanc.

Akira looked up from his phone.  He looked at him with a raised brow.  “Why the hell would that matter?”

Ryuji sported a wicked grin and pointed at himself, “Because you’re looking at the resident badass of the Phantom Thieves.  I know you’ve been keeping up on your training.”

Akira snorted and shook his head before returning his attention back to his phone.  “And your point?”

“I bet you still punch like a bitch,” Ryuji proclaimed with a wolfish grin.

Silence fell between the two.

“…Was that a challenge, Sakamoto?”

“You know it, Kurusu.”

Both Akira and Ryuji were sat on the bed in Tae’s examination room.  Akira was nursing a broken hand, while Ryuji had an ice pack held against a broken nose.  They at least had the decency to look ashamed of what they did.

Across from them were their visibly disappointed partners, Tae and Makoto.  They didn’t say anything as they just stared at the two.

Akira quickly pointed a finger on his non-broken hand at Ryuji and said, “It was his idea.”

“Shud ub,” Ryuji growled.

Tae looked over at Makoto and commented, “You owe me 1,000 yen."

Makoto shook her head and laid her face in her palm.
