AU : Severus never came back after the Prank, he died under the teeth of Remus. Lily, doesn't accept the true - how could Severus, her little brother be dead, how could the boy that she was sure she would spend the rest of her life with be gone. The Evans after months of her grieving put her in therapy. She's sure it's her fault, she should have stopped him - she should have told him to stop obsessing. She should have stopped him, she should have punished Black - she should have done so much things, but her little brother was dead and she would never see him again.

After the prank Remus cuts off Sirius and becomes friends with the skittles remus, regulus, James, Barty, Evan, and sometimes peter hang out a lot and him and regulus start being fwb, it’s more modern slang, James/Barty, Peter is not outcasted and with Evan, the girls are actually part of it, remus has a good relationship with his dad, slow burn, remus and regulus have a lot of banter and are obviously in love with eachother and everyone knows it, regulus and Sirius have an estranged relationship but in the end they try and be better.
Almost 200k words, 35 chapters, and completed.
This author is one of my favourites and they have really good Moonwater fics 10/10 would recommend.

Sirius couldn't blame Moony for hating him. He hated himself, too. He betrayed his best friend and the one he fell in love with, and now Remus hated him. He caused so much pain, which was truly worthy of the Black name, and that made Sirius hate himself even more.
Despite him being a shit friend and a shit human, there's one thing that Sirius is still good at, and that's keeping up with his promises.
He promised the moon itself that he'd make it up to him, that he'd show him that he was truly sorry, and that he would do anything to be worthy of his friendship again.
It was almost a full month after Sirius endangered Snape and Remus' safety. He'll never understand how James managed to convince Remus to sit with them in their usual place at dinner time, especially considering that the full moon would be happening the next day and it'd be a reminder of Sirius' betrayal. Even if Remus wasn't acknowledging his existence, Sirius was grateful to have him near him again, to get lost in those beautiful brown eyes or fall for the trap that was his enchanting smile.
Of course, the joy couldn't last long enough.
"Feeling off yet, Loony? Shouldn't you already be in your cage?" Snape's words made the hairs at the back of Sirius' neck stand, and he felt an irrational amount of rage invade his boy.
"Shut up, Snivellus", Sirius threatened. His eyes travelled to where Remus was, only to find him hunched over as if he was trying to protect himself with an invisible shell.
"Can't wait to see another scar in your face, maybe that way you'll finally be worth looking at." Maybe Sirius' rage was rational after all.
"Shut. Up. Snape", he threatened, this time more firmly and with danger caressing his words.
"Who knows? Maybe this time you'll be smart enough to kill one of your daft friends."
"Langlock!"
Snape finally stopped talking after Sirius' jinx. But that wasn't enough for him. He raised his wand once again, but this time, aiming at the mountain of books that Snape was holding.
"Oppugno!" And just like that, Snape's books were attacking him.
"You really need to learn when to stop talking, Snivellus. And let me remind you that even on your best day, you could never be half the good and kind soul that Remus is. Breathe near him again, and I promise it won't be books chasing your sorry ass."
The warning was enough to send Snape rushing away from the Great Hall, books still chasing him on his way out. The pure sight made Sirius grin.
"What a twat." Remus' shaky yet soft voice made Sirius' lungs completely give out. He almost forgot the amount of power his voice had over him.
When he looked at those brown eyes, he found a glimpse of hope. Hope that maybe everything would be ok with them, even after Sirius' biggest mistake. After all, what Sirius said was true; there is no one with a kinder and bigger heart than Remus Lupin.
They locked eyes, but only for a moment before Remus looked away again. He did, however, notice the faint smile growing in Moony's beautiful face, making the hope grow larger in his chest.
And Sirius was reminded of his promise. A promise to fight for him.
