There was an iPhone security issue a while back where the OS would keep an unencrypted file with months and months of location data on your phone and in your iTunes' back-up files.
A cool visualization app was made that allows you to see a map of your stored location data.
A bunch of people freaked out and Apple released updates that both encrypted the location data and also shortened the time frame that was retained.
I purposefully stopped updating iTunes and my iPhone's iOS so these security updates would not be applied before the big trip.
Here is the pay-off... my iPhone's iPhoneTracker map - post 4 Corners Ride.
The Rumors Are True
I am selling the orange 2007 Harley Davidson Road Glide that I rode during the tour.
It is a great bike that took me across this country and back with relatively no problems.
I consider it my trusty steed. I am quite fond of it and it is a lot of fun to ride, but it is just not my dream bike, and as hard as it is to let her go I best do it sooner than later.
So I am leaving it here in California and Kent will be handling the sale for me (thanks KC!).
Sadly, I will be taking the stickers off the bike shortly after posting this.
For anyone thinking that my wife is forcing me to sell it against my will, the contrary is true, she actually has a great idea for a monument for my bike and the ride that I will post at some point in the distant future when it is complete.
Attention Followers
The ride is over.
We have moved past the point where we "live blogged" the best we could while doing the ride to the point where we will being filling in all the holes with more photos and stories and notes from our journey.
So if you continue to follow us you will see lot's of new postings, some with post-ride updates, some with photos and stories that seem out of order and maybe out of context, but in the end this site will be transformed into a tome - archiving our journeys for us.
We have 1000's of photos to look through and hours open hours of video and then also I have a near complete capture of our entire ride in a time-lapse video that I need to edit down into segments and prep for posting.
Kent once said that he said it might take him a year to go through what he has. The great thing is that we have a place to put it as we organize it and find the gems we want to remember and share.
Thanks for following us and cheering us on along the way. It's been a great experience to share with Mike, Troy, Jeff, and Kent. I am very blessed for being able to have done this trip.
Been stretching for 10 min and my toes are still froze...
