Obi-wan selfishly wanted this time alone with the baby. He whispered to her of her siblings. Her older sister, Leia, and her brothers Korkie and Luke. He spoke of Qui-gon and the Anakin that he’d known. He told her of Ahsoka. The few close friends he’d had amongst the Jedi. He told her about Satine, her pride and determination and sheer force of will persuading Mandalore to embrace pacifism. He described Cody with a pang of regret and loss.
Too many names and faces crowded his memories for this morning. There would be other quiet mornings or evenings.
After all, they had a lifetime.

I was going for medieval iconography here (like an illuminated manuscript).
Your order of one Force-sensitive infant has shipped!
Right off the bat, the Kenobi novel is a fucking riot. One of the local moisture farmers, Wyle Ulbreck, witnesses typical Obi-Wan shenanigans; a casual stop at a bar that turns into a shoot-out. None of this phases the Jedi Master in the slightest, even while in custody of baby Luke.
“No, truth was, [Ulbreck] just couldn’t trust his besotted eyes. No one would risk his neck against Jabba’s toughs. And no one would bring a baby to a bar fight. No decent person, anyway. Certainly not some hero type.”
If you want know how to start a great novel, just throw my man Obi-Wan Kenobi into a bar fight holding his presumed-dead best-friend’s infant son.
“The package is delivered.”
-Obi-Wan Kenobi, in his head to Qui-Gon shortly after handing off Luke to Owen and Beru Lars.
He’s treating it like another mission and I’m not sure if it’s just the way he is (nerd) or if he’s doing it to cope with Order 66 (in which case I am sobbing).
And this is just the prologue!

From Kenobi by John Jackson Miller
The resistance movement known as the Whiplash was less than two months old, but already it had achieved some impressive accomplishments, including surgical strikes on supply routes and troop transports. It had also established a series of secret routes, safe houses, and groups of partisans working together to facilitate the escape of political undesirables and others declared “enemies of the state.” These included Temple workers, aides-de-camp, Force-sensitives, and even, it was rumored, a few Jedi Padawans and Knights. The fugitives were smuggled via cargo vehicles, utility tunnels, and various other clandestine means from all over the cityplanet, along routes known collectively as the Underground Mag-Lev. They were eventually placed onto freighters, transports, pleasure yachts—any ship whose captain was sympathetic to the cause, or mercenary enough to be swayed by credits—and so ferried safely offworld.
From Jedi Twilight
I’ve always wondered about what happened to the whole Jedi cultural edifice and by this I mean Temple workers and non-Jedi that routinely worked with Jedi (for example, contracted companies and suppliers). Also there must have been non-Force sensitives who did Jedi history and “Force theory” in history, art history, philosophy, and religious studies departments at secular universities, so I wonder about them too and how many of those “recanted” or went into hiding.
I also wonder how these people would have stepped back into reconstruction efforts. It gives me a lot of feelings especially to think about the involvement of non-sensitives in the NJO and their contribution to thinking of Jedi as more integrated into the wider community.
It’s too bad the EU never went there with much detail.
