Jalmandir at Pawapuri, Bihar. Lord Mahavira attained nirvana here around 523 BC. Legend has it, Mahavira was cremated here and there was a great rush to collect his ashes. So much soil was removed resulting in creation of a pond. Jalmandir was built in the middle of the pond.
