Remember, Israel is and always has been a genocidal settler-colonial state. Zionism is white nationalism, and emerges from a goyische agenda to propagate Western imperialism. What the Israeli government is doing (and has always done) to Palestinians is precisely the targeted violence we were brought up as Jews to flee, and to commemorate enduring and resisting against.

Remember that Pharaoh, Haman, Antiochus, Holofernes were wielding state power against us. What is happening to Palestinians today is just the same as that which we recall when we say 'they tried to kill us...'

Remember that 'first they came for the [blank]... Then they came for the Jews'. If we let this happen, we are not safe either.

The State of Israel is a wound on my Jewish identity, on Palestinian life, and on the world. Remember, as Jews it is our calling to work on healing such wounds. Decolonial action now!

Chums was a boys' newspaper (published 1892-1927) which regularly featured fictional adventures modeled after the colonial fantasies of R.L. Stevenson (Treasure Island), Daniel Defoe (Robinson Crusoe) and Jonathan Swift (Gulliver's Travels), etc. Such serials served to propagandise the settler and military conquests of imperial Britain to generations of young men who would grow up to fight the World Wars and go on to carve up former colonies following the formation of the Commonwealth.
