THE TALE OF THE KAPPA
Since the Kappa is on land, it is clear that it has some acute differences to a normal water-dwelling Kappa. It seems rather aggressive, but is careful to keep the hallow containing water on the crown of it's head steady, as it cannot be replenished readily. It also seems to have some basic intelligence, and seems to be aware of it's task. As Hondo approaches it, the Kappa snarls at him and seems to back up to guard Celia, splaying it's clawed hands out (another distinction from a normal water-dwelling Kappa). What does Hondo do?
Hondo would approach the kappa with caution, holding his wand to his side defensively than forwardly; aggressively. He'd bow in front of the kappa to show respect, while pleading with it to move aside. Hondo knjows kappa are proud creatures and though his strong in martial magic rather approach the creature calmly and passively in hopes to bide it's anger
The creature seems less aggressive after Hondo bows to him, seeming to appreciate the act of respect. However, it does not budge, nor dose it bow back. It opens it's palm, drawing a small ball of water from the hallow atop it's head and levitating it from hand to hand. It grins at him with razor sharp teeth, as if beckoning him forward.
Hondo flashes a prideful grin, wishing his ploy to make the Kappa bow would have worked yet rose his wand countering the creature. Taking a moment he circled the Kappa, thinking and plotting for a perfect window until he took a step forward; his wand crackling it's energy as he casted. GLACIUS, shouting as both hands gripped his wand. A blue, icy light sprung from his tip as the air between the Kappa and him was filled with a jet frosty air. He aimed at the levitating ball of water hoping to eliminate the creatures natural element within seconds
Without this magical defense, the creature is visibly frustrated, knowing that he cannot re conjure any water lest he risk running out. He charges Hondo rather quickly and suddenly, getting one good swipe in with his claws, catching Hondo on the thigh. In the process, it let some of the water in the hallow slosh out. The cuts sting and stain his trousers, however they do not appear to be overly deep. It takes a large amount of the Kappa's self control to retreat back to guarding the girl instead of going after the Champion's blood. Again, the Kappa snarls at him, raising a claw up to the girl in some sort of threat, waiting for his next move.
Hondo was taken off-guard, not expecting a physical attack but another magical one. When the Kappa lunged at him, he turned instinctively feeling his thigh burn in pain as his flesh was torn open. His right hand went to the wound in moments, as he kept his wand at-the-ready. "Sneaky bastard" he mumbled to himself yet watched as it went to threaten it's charge. Hondo mind raced, his hand began to saturate with his own blood when a thought struck him. 'My blood' he echoed, remembering demons in Africa might be the same as in Japan. Without hesitation he plunge his fingers into his wound, spreading his skin, causing it to pool down his leg. Pain throb through his lower-self, but gritting his teeth as he approached the creature. Blood wafted through his sense, only imagining what the creature could smell. Closer and closer he inched, watching the creature look between him and the girl, waiting for a perfect distractuon, then struck with a non-verbal FLIPENDO, hoping to knock him away from her
The creature's pupils dilated. Human blood surrounded it, filled it's nostrils, it's mouth and seemed to wrap wrap arounds it brain. It could barely remembers what it's goal was, much less where it was or whether it was being outwitted. It's claws seemed to elongate in reaction nicking the girl behind him slightly, it's knife-like teeth were bared. The creature was ready to pounce when it was thrown aside into the Trees. Hondo has a handful of minutes to climb the post, get Celia and get her into the green zone
Hondo watched as the Kappa blasted past the post, outward into the clearing of the trees. His eyes adverted to Celia, then darted as best as he could to her. His legs did a two-step hobble, his good leg being the lead as his bloodied one followed behind. “Don’t worry we got this.” he explaoined, offering up his necklace over her head after severing her down from the post. He slung his arm over her shoulder, and looked at her with the plea as they both used one another for support as they aimed for the green line. Hondo kept his wand at his side, yet unsjure if there would be any more challenges between here and there.
The Kappa is disoriented and as it was thrown, the water in it's hallow empties completely and the Kappa dies. As Celia is fully conscious now and uninjured enough to walk on her own, she gets safely to the green and is escorted away by two wizards. Hondo is now facing the opposite side of the poles and creatures. He now has to go after Louis......
