My next set of post partum pads... these I made so that there are two layers that will separate in the wash, so that they will get clean easier, and also dry easier in the dryer. I'll wear them with the wingless section face down, and the wings around my underwear should keep the layers together while worn. These are made from an old flannel pillowcase, and all the scrap you get inherently from cutting curved pieces was sewn inside, providing a bit of extra absorption, and making this completely zero waste.

Curved menstrual pads are nice, but I'm doing some more streamlined ones after having to churn out so many pads to be ready for my postpartum time. Oh, I do like how these come out quicker! The two parts of them are only sewn together around the perimeter of the square piece, so that it is not sewn through all layers in the middle, allowing them to get cleaner in the wash and dryer in the dryer. The square and the rectangular parts are both four layers of (recycled from a pillowcase) flannel, for eight layers in the middle. They are a middle size between my newly sewn postpartum pads and my regular cloth menstrual pads (which are smaller than some people might use) so they will be more useful for reusing for my period once postpartum is over. These are around 10.25 inches long, and my postpartum pads I've made are 13.5 inches long.
